I would like to say some personal thank you’s to all the members of the committee for helping make this years festival the most successful yet. With over 500 people coming through the door on the day and enjoying the fantastic bands that were on offer. Behind the scenes everything went 99% to plan, with only a couple of very small issues. I would like to also thank the bands for their part in this and helping us keep on track with timings, by getting changed over as quickly and smoothly as possible, with help from our brilliant sound guys Charlie & Andrew.
I would like to thank Karen & Jan for running an extremley tight, well organised and very busy merchandise stand. Shelly, Lisa Cheryl for selling draw tickets and drawing the winners and sorting the prizes. Thanks again to Shelly and lisa’s sister for organising the sell of our Hobgoblin beer tokens and then the subsequent refunds once the beer had sold out !!. Thanks go to Cheryl for running the arts and crafts stall and keeping the little ones occupied. Thank you to Ben for jumping in on the various stands to give people breaks in between interviewing bands for our fallout radio show. I would like to thank Beth & Fran for running our ticket desks and booking desk, selling tickets, booking bands in and handing out passes.
Thanks to Dave for helping with the general organisingand setting up on the day before and helping me fire fight the various problems and technical issues that came up on the day. A big thanks to Stevie for being our MC for the day and doing a fantastic job of getting the crowd going !! Cheers to Gordon for running the lighting desk on the Lansdown stage and for agreeing to be couped up in the sound gallery for over 12 hours !! A big fat well done goes to Jordie for the second year running for keeping a tight grip on things as our stage manager. Another big thank you goes out to Charlie for running the sound desk on our Usher stage, and for allowing himself to be thrown in at the deep end with only a couple of hours tutoring from Terry. Cheers to Nigel for all your help in the morning and being witness to the crazy mad couple of hours before the doors opened. Thanks to Norman for acting as our ears and eyes and running our stage security and generally keeping the bands on their toes with your chat.
Thank you to our stall holders, All Instruments, Voltz, Russell Matthews, Bob and Rebecca. Also thanks to Steve & Leanne for helping us with the catering too.
I dont think I have forgotten anybody, apart from to say thank you again to the Civic staff for being very accomodating to all our needs with regard to setting up and the smooth running on the day. In particular Becky for being a diamond and for rushing about almost as much as i was during the day.
A massive thank you goes out to all the bands who gave up their time and travelled from near and far to entertain us all, without you this wouldnt have happened.
And lastly of course a huge thanks to all those who paid their hard earned money to buy a ticket and come along and support our charity and unsigned music. To all those who travelled from Leeds, Birmingham, London and beyond to help us raise a total of £1600 for our charity JDRF and help raise awareness of this horrible condition.
