Here we go the first band confirmed for Rock Diabetes 2015 is …………..
Powerslaves – one of the UK’s top Iron Maiden tribute acts. Normally we don’t go for tribute acts but these guys are soooo good we could not resist, and who couldn’t resist a little bit of Maiden.
Silent Divide - Silent Divide is a 5-piece female fronted heavy rock band based in Essex/Suffolk, formed in 2013. With a varied influence of individual musical styles, each member brings to the table their own style to create a melodic heavy rock/soft metal sound that is difficult to assimilate to other current bands of the same genre.
Warlord UK - Death Metal outfit from Birmingham, formed in 1993 by frontman Mark White. Warlord UK soon hit the Birmingham music scene and started supporting bands such as Napalm Death, Cancer, Cerebral Fix, Benediction, Entombed, GBH and others. Warlord UK’s approach was not to follow how other Death Metal bands dressed in the early 1990’s – all in black with white trainers and synchronised head banging.
Valous - Are a metal five piece from the Midlands, formed in around 1995, they reformed in 2010 after a few years off, stronger than ever, 2011 and 2012 thus far has been an outstanding time for VALOUS; we played many an awesome gig with many an awesome band. To share a bill with the likes of Left for Red, CalatrilloZ, Hostile, Trucker Diablo, My Great Affliction, Triaxis, Dakesis, Monument, Furyon, Oxzide, Eyes of the Raven and many other great bands has definitely been amongst some of the peak events in the VALOUS history books. On February 16th 2013 Valous released their debut full length album ‘The Things You Once Knew’
Triaxis – Triaxis are a heavy metal band from South Wales. Formed in 2006, Triaxis self-released their debut full-length album ‘Key To The Kingdom’ in 2009 to critical acclaim, including plaudits from Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Zero Tolerance as well as coverage and praise from many leading music websites. They have also made numerous radio appearances, including airplay on Bruce Dickinson’s BBC Rock Show.
Control The Storm – Control The Storm are a melodic metal band based in the South West. Offering unforgettable melodies, an astounding double assault of dual guitars, atmospheric keys and the hard hitting rhythm section that modern metalheads crave. Control The Storm were awarded a slot on Bloodstock Festival’s ‘New Blood’ stage in 2012 after winning Reading’s ‘Metal To The Masses’ competition. Their 2010 debut EP was well received by a growing fan base and their new album is expected to be released in December 2014.
Left For Red – Spawned from an area that surprisingly has Heavy Metal running right through its veins, Left For Red were born in 2010 in the West Midlands, and were nourished by the records of Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Crowned winners of KERRANG’s TNA competition and had their song “Kneel Before You Die” broadcast in 27 countries around the world on their Impact show. Over 10,000 collective views on Youtube. Headlining in O2 Birmingham Headlining Out Of The Ashes Festival.
Wisefool – Originally formed in 2010, we have spent the last 4 years building a strong following in the South of England and have performed at many venues along the coastal towns and cities, as well as London and Bath. With influences including Metallica, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and Corrosion Of Conformity, our plan is to promote our music and raise it to to the level it deserves, putting Wisefool on the Rock-Metal map.
Voodoo Vegas -Since forming in 2006 in Bournemouth, the band have gigged tirelessly on both home turf and the continent, honing their craft during regular rounds of the French, Belgian, Italian and German live circuits, and raising the musical bar still higher in support slots to standard bearers such as Glenn Hughes, Uriah Heep, The Wildhearts and Fozzy.Rapidly rising new young quintet Voodoo Vegas debut album, ‘ The Rise Of Jimmy Silver’, set for release on March 4th 2014 on the band’s own label, distributed by Cargo, is nothing other than a glorious, guitar driven, melody drenched, hard rock delight.
Scout Killers – are a five piece alternative/rock/indie band that formed in late 2009 in the Bath and Bristol area. The band draws its influence from such artists as Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stone Age, Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers. It’s clear to see from their powerful live sets that they hold viscerally expressive vocals, atmospheric and foreboding guitar swells and shadowy rhythmic undertones high on their priorities when it comes to songwriting.
Freeway Mad – came together as it is now in late 2012. All of its members have come from previous bands and between them have a wealth of live and studio experience. The band have a mission which is to bring back the lost but not forgotten sound that ruled the late 70′s and early 80′s… ROCK! The love, passion, blood, sweat and tears that goes into Freeway Mad comes through in their music, this band won’t be ignored and refuses to stand in line with the crowd. There’s guitar harmonies, earth shattering riffs, searing vocals and a performance that will blow you away.
We Come From Ashes – is a heavy metal band taking influences from all types of heavy music and melding them into their own sound to wreck your ears and your necks!Influences come from bands as varied as Cancer Bats, Every Time I Die, Pantera, Metallica, Behemoth, Carnifex, Motionless In White, While She Sleeps, Dark Angel, Napalm Death, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Parkway Drive, Sisters Of Mercy, The Defiled and many more. Although they don’t sound specifically like any of these bands, they are influenced by them. They have played the main stages at Hard And Heavy Fest and Heaven and Hell Fest and have played in some legendary venues including The 2pigs in Cheltenham and The Dollshouse in Abertillery. In 2015 they will be recording their first EP and are hoping to play many more great shows far and wide.
